Adekunle Gold – It Is What It Is Album is definitely going to be of much more vibes than that of the one he had been releasing before.
Adekunle made it known on his Instagram page today that he would be dropping an album on the 30th of April, 2021. In his caption, he said this is a go time. i.e energy re-activated, after a long season of silence.
When it comes to urban-highlife in Nigeria, Adekunle Gold is definitely one of the musicians to watch out for.
BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT ADEKUNLE GOLD
Originally born Adekunle Kosoko popularly know as Adekunle Gold is a fast-rising Nigerian afro-beat singer. He was born into the family of Kosoko on the 28th of January, 1987 in Lagos State in the South-Western part of Nigeria. He is also a nephew to the legendary actor, Jide Kosoko. Kunle completed both his primary and secondary education in Lagos state. He furthered proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic where he graduated with an HND in Arts and Design.
He incepted into the music industry with two hits back to back, Sade and Orente. In 2015, he was nominated for Most Promising Act of the Year at the 2015 City People Entertainment Awards. His 2014 hit singe ‘Sade’ was nominated for Best Song of the Year at the Headies Awards in 2015.
On the 5th of March, Adekunle Gold signed a music contract deal with Olamide YBNL Nation under which he released his first studio album titled ‘Gold’. He had the song ‘Sade’ as the album’s hit lead single. He released Orente through YBNL Nation.
In the year 2016, his contract with YBNL got expired, and he had to leave. After his departure, Gold unveiled his own record label ‘The 79th Element’ which means the atomic number of gold. On the 15th of January, 2018, Unity Bank of Nigeria unveiled Adekunle Gold as its brand ambassador.
